Case

Implexlog Inc. v. Kaikaris (LMO fee deduction from wages)

Date

2015-12-15

Authors

Canada Labour Arbitration

Abstract

In her emails and written communications Scherazade Karmali Jamal pointed out, several times, that Implexlog Inc. accommodated the employee, Mantas Kaikaris, with a job and assisted him in obtaining a required labour market opinion at a cost of $275.00, which was paid by the employer on behalf of the employee. Apparently, these monies were received by an employment consultant and enabled Mr. Kaikaris to gain employment with Implexlog Inc. These communications indicate a certain frustration on the part of Ms. Jamal as Mr. Kaikaris discontinued his employment. Accordingly, Ms. Jamal stated Mantas Kaikaris had a legal and moral obligation to repay his debt of $275.00.
