Abstract

Employment Standards are the laws in Ontario that cover non-unionized workers. Every province has its own set of laws. The
Ministry of Labour is the provincial government body that enforces the laws that cover workers in Ontario. This is where workers
can file claims to get their unpaid wages. The Ministry of Labour is very clear - workers are covered by the law and are able to
file claims “regardless of an employee’s citizenship or immigration status in Canada”. Below is a very basic and limited overview
of your rights at work.
