Report/Press release

The Status of Migrant Farm Workers in Canada - 2015 - UFCW/AWA

Date

2015

Authors

UFCW Canada and AWA/ATA

Abstract

UFCW Canada is Canada’s leading private sector union. We
count 1.4 million members internationally and more than
250,000 members in Canada. Our members work throughout
the food industry—from the farm to the table.

For this report we have drawn on
the expertise of our staff across the
country, academic research, and the
experiences of the more than 13,000
migrant agriculture members of the
AWA, which is today North America’s
largest agriculture workers organization.
We are using this opportunity to address
long-standing issues and recent
developments, while pushing
reform that would result in fairer
treatment of migrant agriculture
workers.
